The Company

Gittleman Construction & Maintenance Corporation supports FirstService Residential Management and its customers in the construction, mechanical maintenance, service, repair, and development of approximately 500+ condominium and townhome associations in and around the Twin Cities area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process vendor and client invoicing; may include processing accounts receivable and/or accounts payables
  • Act as the liaison between associates, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Communications related to construction projects
  • Assist in coordinating the work of subcontractors, maintaining site access, applying for and delivering municipal permits
  • Identify and resolve potential field issues, working closely with project managers and association Managers
  • Maintain client and vendor contracts, vendor insurance, and content in project software system and generate reports.
  • Interface with the marketing team to create and coordinate the delivery of case studies, newsletter articles, and content for the www.gittlemanconstruction.com website
  • Deliver client satisfaction surveys and follow-up on survey responses

Education & Experience

  • 1-2 years of project support/ coordination experience and a strong understanding of project management is required
  • 1-2 years construction and maintenance work experience or related field is preferred
  • Skilled software user and ability to learn new software programs quickly is a must
  • Associate’s degree or higher in related field

Job Responsibilities

The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for service, maintenance, repair, and inspections on residential HVAC equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and repair of residential heating and air conditioning systems as assigned via daily service tickets and repair requests
  • Internal and external inspections of boilers, burners, chiller HVAC and associated controls
  • Conduct equipment readings that are critical for operations, efficient performance, maintenance history and reporting
  • Perform inspections and preventative equipment maintenance as scheduled

  • Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in commercial and residential HVAC
  • High degree of technical knowledge related to HVAC and building mechanical systems
  • Understanding of high rise and residential HVAC Systems, fan coil, heat pump, furnace and air handling units
  • Thorough knowledge of HVAC local, state and national codes
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office applications
  • Basic Smartphone knowledge and skills
  • Valid driver’s license

  • Diagnose plumbing related problems and code violations; recommend and implement appropriate repairs
  • Ensure compliance of safe working practices and conditions in accordance with OSHA guidelines and regulations
  • Maintain records of customer requests, services performed or other related dispatch information

  • RPZ backflow prevention device testing and rebuilding preferred
  • Diagnose and rebuild pressure reducing valves, stations and devices preferred

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide manual labor for maintenance, repair, or replacement at our client facilities
• Perform painting, carpentry, landscaping, grounds cleanup, custodial services, and other miscellaneous light maintenance tasks
• Snow removal and application of snow melting chemicals
• Work on a scheduled and “On-Call” basis as assigned (some rotational emergency after hours on-call is required)

Education & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1+ years as a Maintenance Technician in similar field is required
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
• Understanding of property maintenance services industry
• Geographical knowledge of Twin Cities area
• Proficiency with using a Smartphone
• CPO or Boiler License is a plus (not required)
